The Conservation Status of Northeast Atlantic Chondrichthyans
The release of the first ever IUCN Red List of Threatened Species assessment of northeast Atlantic sharks, rays and chimaeras reveals that 26 percent are threatened with extinction and another 20 percent are in the Near Threatened category. Download the full article here.
FishBase
FishBase is a huge depository of scientific information on every species of fish imaginable. Click on the FishBase tour at top of the page to get an initial feel of what the site provides.
Global Marine Species Assessment
This project is the first global review of the threat of extinction for every marine vertebrate species, plants and selected invertebrates. The project involves a range of partners in compiling and analyzing all existing data on approximately 20,000 marine species.
ARKive
With the increasing rate of species extinction in mind, ARKive was created as a database which aimed to organise the best of the world's wildlife imagery into one centralised, searchable hub. 
IUCN Red List
The IUCN Species Programme working with the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC) has for more than four decades been assessing the conservation status of species, subspecies, varieties, and even selected subpopulations on a global scale in order to highlight taxa threatened with extinction, and therefore promote their conservation.
