A new SOS Shark Centre opened at the White Shark Embassy in Kleinbaai, (Gansbaai), South Africa on the 18th July 2009. Like the existing SOSSC based in Cape Town, Kalk Bay, it helps to promote the protection, conservation and sustainable use of sharks through education and awareness projects. This new Shark Centre is based in what is considered the white shark capital of the world and will be run by Kim Maclean.

The opening of the new centre was a huge success attended by over 200 VIP guests and dignitaries. The White Shark Embassy will collaborate with other NGO facilities to raise awareness that will lead to a better understanding of sharks and the need to care for all life in our oceans. We welcome our new partnership and feel confident that “Together we can, and we will make a difference.”
